One of the best collections for recipes for the slow cooker. I bought 2 more for presents. One is for my daughter who prefers recipes with photos, and this cookbook has lots of them. :-) Plus they are all home-tested so there is always the security of a successful meal or food product. It is also good that theses recipes usually normally available ingredients so there is no hunt-and-search or expenses for unusual ingredients that you end up using once. I have 4 or 5 Taste of Home cookbooks and they are all wonderful.

Meh. Nothing super exciting if you are already familiar with and skilled in using your slow cooker. Out of 403 recipes, I have only flagged 6 that look interesting enough to try

Creole Black Beans & Sausage (looked good in the picture)

Sweet Potato Lentil Stew (bland looking, but healthy...would totally need to use different spices, though, to make it tastier)

Spicy Seafood Stew (annoying, because it's not set it and forget it, and it's only 3 hours cooking, so it's not like you can put it on in the morning and come home to dinner cooked, but looks tasty for a weekend meal)

Old Fashioned Dressing (Stuffing? In a crockpot? Really?? Worth a try!)

Creamy Macaroni & Cheese (Will be eliminating the Velveeta. Really? People still eat that??)

Banana Applesauce (Will eliminate the pumpkin pie filling - ugh - but otherwise looks tasty)

Unless someone invents the mother of all crockpot recipe books, this will be my last one, because in the last 4 I have bought, I have found very few recipes to justify their purchase. But it would be great for beginners.

My big quibble with this (and similar) book is that I wonder why, in this day and age, people are still cooking with canned soups, velveeta, canned veggies, etc. You're using YOUR CROCKPOT. It's the long, slow, savory way to cook. Why cheapen it by using shabby ingredients?
I was very impressed by this copy. It was in mint condition. It arrived on time. It was packaged very well with no tearing of package and damage to book.
